In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, our approach to wellness and self-care has undergone a remarkable transformation. Here are some examples of touchless therapies:

  1. Cryotherapy: Cryotherapy involves exposing the body to extremely cold temperatures for a short duration, typically using a cryotherapy chamber. This treatment is used to reduce inflammation, improve circulation, alleviate muscle soreness, and boost energy levels. Users stand in the chamber, the cold air envelopes the body, promoting various health benefits without direct touch.

  2. Halotherapy (Dry Salt Therapy): Halotherapy is a natural therapy that involves inhaling dry microsized salt particles. It is often delivered in a room, cabin or booth, but there are handheld devices available too. The fine salt particles are dispersed into the air, where clients breathe them in. Halotherapy is has been proven to have respiratory and skin benefits, helping individuals with conditions like asthma, allergies, and eczema, as well as alleviating stress and anxiety, all without any physical contact.

  3. Infrared Sauna: Infrared saunas use infrared light to heat the body directly instead of the surrounding air. These saunas can help with relaxation, pain relief, detoxification, and improved circulation. Users sit or lie inside the sauna cabin, experiencing the therapeutic effects of infrared heat without any physical touch involved.

  4. Floatation Therapy (Sensory Deprivation): Floatation therapy involves floating in a sensory deprivation tank filled with warm, buoyant saltwater. The tank eliminates sensory stimuli, promoting deep relaxation and stress reduction. Floatation therapy is a touchless experience where clients float effortlessly in the water.

  5. Magnetic Resonance Therapy (PEMF): Pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy involves the use of electromagnetic fields to stimulate cellular healing and regeneration. It is used for pain management, improved sleep, and overall wellness. Users typically lie on a PEMF mat or use a handheld device, experiencing the therapy's effects without touch.

Devices like light beds, panels or wearable light therapy glasses emit therapeutic light without physical contact.

Instruments like Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, and tuning forks produce calming and resonating sounds that can help reduce stress, anxiety, and promote a sense of balance. Sound therapy sessions typically do not require any physical contact between the practitioner and the client and can be combined with a number of different therapies to enhance and elevate the experience.

  10. Aromatherapy: Aromatherapy utilizes essential oils extracted from plants to enhance physical and mental well-being. It can be delivered through diffusers, inhalers, or by simply inhaling the scent of the oils. Aromatherapy can have various therapeutic effects, such as stress reduction, improved sleep, and mood enhancement, all achieved without physical touch.

  11. Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy (HBOT): HBOT involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized room or chamber. The increased atmospheric pressure allows the lungs to gather more oxygen than normal, and the bloodstream carries this oxygen throughout the body, promoting healing and providing various health benefits such as decompression sickness, non-healing wounds, and certain medical emergencies.
